Blaker Road | East London | Passivhaus
The Blaker Island residential development is a pioneering PassivHaus project on a small, man-made, operational lock-keeper’s island in East London, with no road access, overlooking Olympic Park. The project achieved the world’s leading low energy standard and was an exciting challenge.
The Argyll team built a new five-storey apartment block and pair of semi-detached townhouses along with the refurbishment of the existing lock keeper’s house. Each property complies to the Passivhaus airtightness standards of 0.6 ACH. Only natural and ecologically certified materials were used inside the properties.
